Nearly 40 hours in transit from the time I left Panmure, Auckland on Sunday 5.30am to touching down at the airport in Edinburgh, Scotland.

I woke up on Saturday at 5.00am to finish the ‘UP DA WAHS’ mural with Siar in Panmure, helped set up for the celebration for the new exhibition ‘Blank Canvas’ at The Good The Bad at 11am, spent some QT with my daughter at 3pm, before watching the Warriors prelim finals game at the Panmure Tavern with friends at 7pm.

From 9.30pm that night I started getting myself sorted for the trip on Sunday which meant packing paint away from the mural and taking photos, tidying up the celebration at the gallery, packing luggage, washing and drying at 2am, finish packing luggage, apply for a UK visa which I never knew about until I checked in online….

I sat down at 3.30am, set my alarm for 4.30am and fell asleep for 1 hour. Thankfully I woke up, got dressed, fed my sourdough starter and packed some breakfast, and the shuttle arrived to go to the airport. I haven’t had a full-on day like that for a while….
